How to housebreak a dog
Normally housebreaking is the very first thing we train our dogs. Even adult dogs from rescue homes may need to be housebroken, not just puppies. Dogs love routine and what has always worked best for me has been to establish the habit of going outside immediately after their meal and exercising, walking at the same time every day. Teach your dog to ’stay’
After sit and lie-down the next everyday command is stay which essentially means sit and stay there ’til I tell you otherwise. It is a more rigid command than the temporary wait.
