Help for Dog Bladder Problems

Bladder problems in dogs can be more than just a little troublesome. Some dog bladder problems can be nothing more than an occasional urinary tract infection while other dog bladder problems can indicate cancer, painful stones, or even diabetes. Because dogs can’t tell us where it hurts, how much, and whether or not they think they’ll be Okay, dog bladder problems can be difficult to ascertain and treat and even harder to prevent.

Across the street from my house there lives a very sweet, rather humorous toy poodle. I have to admit that I truly enjoy it when she bops over to our porch for a little “Peach time.” Her name is Georgia and her immense pride is obvious. I call her the Peach because her fur reminds me of soft Georgia peach fuzz, not to mention it’s a decent little play on words. The Peach’s coolest trick used to be her famous handstand urination. She would literally lift herself up and balance on her front paws while she urinated on plants, grass, and once even my little dog. It was distressing to find out that nobody considered this cute little trick to be a symptom of a dog bladder problem.

Initially the Peach’s vet put her on antibiotics to treat what turned out to be a non existent (or at least non problematic) urinary tract infection. The Peach’s humans decided to add a bit of natural cure for dog bladder problems into the mix. They tried a cranberry juice just as they would a human urinary tract infection. Bravo to them for going holistic, and eventually their commitment to treating the Peach Fuzz with holistic veterinary care was what led their sweet little dog back to the road of healthy living.

The cool things about natural remedies for dog bladder problems is that it helps to balance out the entire urinary tract and bladder instead of just trying to spot treat one symptom at a time. When the Peach’s vet wanted to do a surgical procedure to increase the size of her bladder, the Peach’s parents opted to find a holistic veterinarian that would indicate surgery as only a final result. The natural remedies that the Peach’s humans were given really started to help the sweet fuzz ball with her urinary problems. She even started to bop on over to my front porch on a daily basis again.

The Peach’s holistic treatments for dog bladder problems not only helped her regain her health but also helped to prevent the return of more bladder problems. It turned out that the Peach was suffering from a bladder stone, which can be extraordinarily painful. Fortunately the holistic pet products that were used helped to break up some of the stone to make it easier to pass, created a healthier urinary tract to prevent the return of symptoms, they also helped to bolster her immune system which is something that all dogs can benefit from.

Within a few weeks, the Peach stopped doing her handstand urination trick but seemed lighter and happier when she ran down the block, her humans hot on her heels to rescue her from her great escape. Holistic dog medicine had saved the day and helped prevent a surgical procedure that would have been completely useless.
